Dr. Richard van der Ross
Medical Director

Dr. Van der Ross was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He completed his schooling at Diocesan College for Boys, Cape Town. He then completed a Bachelor of Science degree (Physiology) in 1992 at the University of Cape Town, and his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town in 1998. After working in rural South Africa and later in the United Kingdom - Royal London Hospital he and his wife travelled to Melfort Saskatchewan with their 1 yr old son James where they had a second child Katherine.

In 2011 he completed further studies in Anesthesia with the Anesthesia department at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

He moved to Kelowna and  joined Guisachan Family Medicine in 2017.  He teaches medical students and residents and provides care in office and person-person virtual care as well as hospital and long-term care.

Dr. van der Ross has practiced at the seniors health and wellness clinic in Kelowna and provided outreach care in downtown Kelowna. He is also trained in medical Acupuncture, Functional Medicine, including hormone therapy, myoactivation therapy and Botox (botulinin toxin) by injection to the head and neck for the treatment of pain and for cosmetic benefit. 

He is excited to start this new venture with the hope of optimizing health and wellness for male patients in the Okanagan.

Dr. Emily Pratt

Dr. Pratt received a B.Sc in Biology from the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, B.C. She then worked with as a biologist in Kitimat, B.C. before completing her naturopathic medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, B.C. Dr. Pratt started in private practice in Kelowna and Vernon in 2012, but since 2013 Dr. Pratt has been working with the Pure North S’Energy Foundation – a chronic disease prevention program that uses research-based nutritional supplements as part of Canada’s largest primary prevention focused not-for-profit organization – in remote communities and underserved populations throughout BC and Alberta.

Dr. Pratt chose to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine because she believes that each person is a unique individual and his or her health concerns are specific to their physiology. Dr. Pratt’s private practice is focused on, but not limited to, integrative dermatology, hormone balancing, fertility support, thyroid and adrenal health, integrative cancer care, autoimmune disease, digestive health, chronic pain and chronic disease. Dr. Pratt uses a variety of modalities in her practice and has completed additional training in prescribing pharmaceuticals, bio-identical hormone replacement, intravenous therapies, neural-prolotherapy for chronic pain and neural therapy for pain & scar treatments.

Dr. Pratt’s goal is to provide you with both naturopathic and conventional treatment options in an individualized, compassionate and comprehensive way in order to best support your health care needs.
